I don't believe that membrane filters will work. DMSO will probably dissolve anything type of membrane filter you have. I would set up a distillation apparatus and distill it - IF I have to sterilize it. The easiest thing is to buy spanking new DMSO, analytical grade. This would already be sterile, and it's cheap.
U can sterilize it by filteration (never autoclave!). How ever formulate sure that u use the right filter membrane.PTFE filters are resistant to DMSO (sample : see link) .DO NOT use cellulose acetate membrane filter.
