Hi Shihtzu. Please ignore the first answerer. "Quackwatch" is quackery.
The medical literature is full of "real" proven research on Multiple Chemical Sensistivity (MCS). A search of Pubmed/Medline using that permanent status gave me a account of 571 research papers. That is NOT quackery.
There is a lot you can do to restore your detoxification of chemicals and toxic metabolites. Large textbooks hold been written on this subject (e.g. "Chemical Sensitivity" by William Rea, M.D. - a four volume set near over 1200 pages and hundreds of proven references!). This is a extremely complicated and complex condition which is why many LAZY doctors rebuff it or deny its existence (which allows them to 'justify' ignoring it).
Note that medication are often contributors to MCS because they are toxic and hold to be detoxified. Generally this condition is NOT treated with medication, but to some extent by: 1) removing or decreasing exposure to chemicals in the environment, 2) on an upward curve detoxification systems in the body via diet, nutritional supplements, etc. and 3) reducing the "toxic load" existing within the body by specific detoxification processes (e.g. far infra-red saunas, chelation therapy, etc.).
For your purposes, it may be best to read some books written for the public on this subject by specialists within this field. I importantly recommend books on detoxification by Sherry Rogers, M.D. such as "Detoxify or Die". This is a powerful book, supported by extensive references to medical research, and filled next to practical information that works. It is available at Amazon.com.

the second poster is the quack. purely because a book is available from amazon.com, that somehow makes it a valid source of medical information? what's subsequent, are you going to tell us that everything you read on the internet is true?
patients who complain of these "multiple chemical sensitivities" are not suffering from any true physical malady. if ever a phrase "it's all surrounded by your head" was applicable, this would be the casing.
