Which of the following blood vessel is the brance of the aortic arc?
B) renal artery
C) mesenteric artery
D) pulmonary artery
E) gastric artery
I tried to look for the answer at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/arterial_tr...
but i couldn't understand the arterial tree.
How can i let somebody know which arteries are the direct branches of the aortic arc?
Answer:
Well for starters, most of these are branches off the aorta (the renal, mesenteric and subclavian). The others I'll describe here:
The pulmonary artery leaves the heart directly to travel to the lungs where on earth the blood is returned to the heart by the pulmonary vein. So this is not section of the aortic arch.
The gastric arteries R and L are branches off the hepatic artery and celiac artery respectively, so neither one is bad the aorta directly.
Now the arotic arch refers to a specific portion of the aorta. The first portion is where it leaves the heart (the ascending part). This is where on earth the coronary arteries are. The next segement is the arch itself.
In the aortic arch, (in most people) three vessel branch off: the brachiocephalic (innominate or "no name") artery, the vanished common carotid artery and the moved out subclavian artery <-- Which is your answer.
From here, the aorta becomes the "descending or thoracic aorta" and numerous vessel start branching - the pericardials aa, intercostals aa, the subcostals aa, the bronchial a, the esophageal a, the phrenics aa, and a few others minor ones.
Once the aorta passes the diaphram, it become the abdominal aorta. Here you'll find the renal a. and inferior and surperior mesenteric aa. Along with the celiac axis(which give rise to the left gastric a.(usually) as noted above), a gonadal a, and the illiac aa. There are also smaller branches approaching the middle suprarenals, the inferior phrenics, the lumbars, the middle sacral and the every ellusive great artery of Adamkowitz (my personal favorite).
its a) the subclavian artery because when the aortic arc arches branches pop out from it going up to the neck underneath the clavicle (collar bone)
The first 3 branches of the aortic arch are the subclavian the inominate and the carotid (not necessarily surrounded by that order).
the brachiocephalic trunk is the first branch of the aortic arch.
Then the left adjectives carotid artery and then the departed subclavian artery
the brachiocephalic trunk divides into the right common carotid artery and the right subclavian artery.
a) subclavian
