I've be told I transport the Anti-M (MNS1) antibody. I'm B+ blood type. What exactly is Anti-M (MNS1)?

I donate blood on a regular basis and be sent a letter which did not explain what exactly it is but they give me a card to carry surrounded by my wallet that says I fetch this. I've checked the Internet and am finding it difficult to find anything out about it. Help! Please! Thanks!!

Answer:
First stale it's nothing desperate. You're familiar beside standard ABO and rH blood types (A- or B+ or O- etc.), well these be the first to be found and most relevant to blood transfusions.

But there are "minor" blood types and one of them is MNS1. So what probably occur was that your blood be selected to be transfused into a long-suffering. And they did a standard screen i.e. known as a "Type and Cross" next to your donated blood and the patient's blood.

When they did this, they found that your blood had antibodies (anti-M) that would've possibly harmed the lenient, so they used someone else's blood for the transfusion for that particular long-suffering.

So for you it means if you ever requirement a transfusion, you need B+ blood in need the M marker on the blood. The anti-M is really no big traffic but it's something you should let your doctor be aware of and you can read adjectives about surrounded by the link below.
