What are the benefits of being a medical intern?

Answers:
It allows you to begin practicing as a *real* doctor. but with training wheels (the supervising physicians). Safe for you the new doctor, and the patients.

It is a stressful year, but well worth it.

It's where you learn to actually be a doctor -- by applying to real patients the stuff you have been learning in four years of medical school. I am told that you learn a LOT.
By interning in the medical industry, you can get that "hands on" experience. You may be the smartest kid in the class but if you hate being around people or realize that you get queasy around blood, there's really no point right? Interning is a valuable experience. It'll also look good on your resume when you're trying to find a job ;)
You will never learn as much in one year of your adult life as you will at a good internship program. Four years of medical school teaches you volumes and volumes of knowledge, but to even apply that knowledge to benefit the life of one patient is a completely different experience. Then you learn to apply that knowledge not to one but 30 or 40 people a day and not just to apply it when you're awake and energetic, but to be able to use that knowledge to save lives anytime and anywhere. Never having been in boot camp, I can't make a personal comparison, but I can imagine that there are a lot of similarities.
that when u will apply u're theoretical knowledge into real practice. U'll be getting the fine tuning in how to be a real Dr. & a safe one. all about filing & reporting.patien relations.counceling & also how to handle patients' questins & concernes..& also of the relatives'. what if u face an angry relative??!
u will improve u're medical ethics & to really apply them & see the effect of applying them.
the other answers are all pretty good.

But basically, it comes down to the fact that you just can't be a medical doctor otherwise.
You learn how to stay awake for days and do things to poor patients you did not know how to do wide awake. In some places, rules have been put in effect how long a house officer can work.
