Strabismus Surgery - Should I or not?
I am currently programmed for surgery 12/22/06 (friday) and I start a new duty Wednesday 12/27/06 --- Do I go forward next to the surgery or not? My concern is in good opinion to any unforseen complications which we know are out there - and as expected just retrieval in common. Do I want my first impression to be the red leaky eyed guy?
The time is right, it give me 4 days of recovery which will not cost me as far as vaction time and missed work. What would you do?
I cannot remember my previous recovery and given my current situation - I believe I have added factor that are making the decision much harder than it should be. Either path I need to label a decision and I am looking for a response from a professional and / or someone hopefully an grown who recently go through the procedure and actually remembers the salvage challenges.

There are 7 official Indications for surgical corrections of adult strabismus:
1. Diplopia
2. Visual Confusion
3. Restoration of Binocular Vision
4. Intolerance of Prism Glasses or Patch
5. Restoration of Visual Field
6. Elimination or Improvement of Abnormal Head Posture
7. Psychosocial Function/Vocational Status
Of these, number 7 is an regularly overlooked indication. Adult strabismus results in optical and psychosocial disabilities. Successful strabismus surgery can relieve diplopia and visual confusion, restore or establish depth perception, expand the ocular field, wipe out an abnormal director posture and improve psychosocial function and employability. It's not in recent times about cosmetics - adults near strabismus should consult their ophthalmologist about the relative risks and benefits of surgery, but don't only discount it.

it discussions about how both impair vision is not genetic, but it can be enhanced naturally. Vision have to do with your mind and have both left and right brain work together.

GO FOR IT, if your concerns are in the order of the recovery spell it takes or in the region of the complications that may happen, consequently let me assure you that the stbotomy(strabismus surgery)has an excellent sanctuary and recovery outcome ,because the surgery is done on the extra optical (eye) muscles and usually the patient can proceed near the normal comings and goings within 1-2 days post surgery. some complications own been reported as in good health especially when the surgery is done on a previously operated eyes or when more than 3 muscles are operate simultaneously in matching eye, such complications include the (anterior segment ischemia) where the blood supply of the eye sphere is severely compromised because of the trauma that is applied over the muscles through which blood vessel run toward the pupil and the iris. Perforation of the glob was also reported when the nozzle penetrates through the sclera causing a retinal make worse. still these complications a re extremely unlikely to happen and merely few were reported within the literature...so my advice is GO FOR IT ...
