Can an anaestatic substance be made at home?

hey!

Well, i'm just curious just about whether any substace of the sort can be made at home to anaestasize cmall creatures, for example cockroaches and take them out of the house fairly than crushing them or using insecticides on them . I don't want to hurt the animals in any type. Also, please state the duration of the anaestasis. Please help. No dumb answers please...This is medical :-)

Answer:
Let's start out with the right word...ANESTHETIC (or anaesthetic if you are British).

The problem you hold is that different chemicals are used for different species for anesthesia, and in different doses. Much of what vet use, though, is the same item we use for humans.

If you fill your house beside anesthetic gas (ether or one of the halogenated ethers we use in the OR), you'll anesthetize anyone who enter the house to remove the offending critters. In the operating room, we monitor people slightly closely to keep from bloodshed them. (In fact, deliver anesthesia without constant resuscitation would be execution)

It's an interesting thought, but not a safe one.

A while ago within Russia, they attempted to quell a terrorist hostage situation by using fentanyl (an opiate) and they ended up massacre most of the hostages by mistake.

I think your choices are to wipe out the pests, find a pet that likes to get through the pests, or live with them.
this is a vastly interesting question ethically and scientificaly. I am sorry I can't answer it, but obedient luck with finding answers. I'll be checking them out as resourcefully.
Well, ether (starting fluid for cars) has be used as an anaestetic mamals but in ample doses will kill. It is also used to humainly annihilate insects for use in entomological study. I conjure in small doses it may basically put them out for a while (good luck giving a measured does to a roach). Menthol chips are used to anaestasize oystgers for surgury (seeding pearls), who knows what effects this have on roaches and such. Then there is the glorious ethyl alcohol that we use to anaestasize ourselves recurrently.. It has a drying effect and will also raison d`¨ētre death contained by large doses (any anaestetic is really some sort of toxin). Careful not to use denatured alcohol, it have additives that are even more toxic than normal ehtyl (like methyl alcohol). Much of this will call for experimentation unless somebody actually looks this up.
alcohol is anaestatic
