What's the difference between anesthesiology and nurse anesthesia?
Answers:
An anesthesiologist is a medical doctor (college + medical school + residency). Nurse anesthetists are nurses beside advanced training. Most of the time, nurse anesthetists administer anesthesia under the medical direction of an anesthesiologist.
Above post is not correct in connection with certified registered nurse anesthetists - they can do much more than monitor a patient. Regular nurses are a different story.
level of training and the nurse can't administer only monitor
an anesthesiologist is a doctor - beside a medical degree where on earth as a nurse anesthetist is a registerd nurse who is trained and able to administer anasthesia but works beneath an anesthesiologist.
