I also took this med. I found it didn't help much. Vicodin or (Hydrocodone) is a pious alternative although most MDs don't like to prescibe them. I currently clutch Darvocet and a muscle relaxer (Cyclobenzaprine 5). It works better than the Fiorinal and doesn't make me jittery. The simply real problem next to either of these 2 (not the Cyclo..) is that you may find them too strong if you own low tolerance for codeine, and they can irritate your stomach (especially the Vicodin). Be sure to take them near food. But I would definitely discuss the Vicodin first since it works better...but be prepared for a discussion on possible addiction even though it's unlikely to surface if you only use if for the instantaneous pain. Also these work better if you can steal the meds before a headache get too well started.
One of the biggest pet peeve of doctors and pharmacists is self-diagnosis and self-prescription. When you go to the doctor, explain the symptoms that you're experiencing on the Fiornal, and that you reflect it may be the codeine/caffeine mix that's making you feel that method. You may ask if Tylenol #3 or #4 may work, but ask for his suggestion. After all, he is the doctor. If you discuss about it near your doctor, you can determine together what is the best course of treatment for you.

I would definately give an account your doctor your medication history, what you've used & what worked. If you don't like the fiorinal/codeine, afterwards tell your doctor that. However, I probably wouldn't start requesting medication. I would probably let your doctor brand name the suggestions, since that is why he/she go to medical school. It is adjectives for the two of you to have that conversation together, but I suppose that it is sometimes better if patients walk within with sort of a "blank slate," to some extent than asking the doctor to prescribe something specific for them (unless you have used it formerly and know it works well). Your doctor may have philosophy that you haven't even thought of. Good luck with your headache!
