It is the sole function for such diversity in the human species. It is the principle why siblings, even identical twins, eventually diverge into their own personality. Since no two individuals have the exact same neurological framework, no two individuals surrounded by this world are the same. Even clones would not grow up to be exactly alike since the external environment plays a role within building neuron connections.
To provide for differnt choices for compatibilty. If we were adjectives wired the same we would be bored out of our minds. If we have no choices it would create a pattern of montony. Like they utter, opposites attract and people who are alike tend to repel. Why? Because we already know what we are close to thus the search for something different, unusual and exciting.
