Answers:
it would appear that it's the same virus, but shingles (which it's also called) appear after that in enthusiasm, whereas chicken pox usually occurs during childhood.
this would inspire a grill about what effect vaccines would own - and i haven't any idea.

A 9-year old w/herpes zoster, who have a normal immune system, will draw from the characteristic "sores".the virus consequently goes into hibernation but is still surrounded by the nerve ganglion; repeated exposure through sunburn or being around others next to chicken pox, find their immunity to the dreaded Herpes Zoster increases.
*
In the aged, injured, those undergoing chemo/radiation normally end up beside this very hurting and often brutal attack upon a line of their nerves commonly call "shingles".
*
If you, as I, have never have "chickenpox", we have no Herpes Zoster hibernate in our ganglion.

If never exposed or caught chickenpox, you cannot attain shingles! CactusLil'
both are due to varicella zoster virus.
both presents with vesicles
both are significantly contagious - by contact or air-borne
same treatment: acyclovir
chickenpox is itchy while herpes presents with throbbing
it's the same virus one you draw from when you're young and the other (herpes zoster) you get hold of when you no longer have imperviousness from the chicken pox.
chicken pox is caused by the varicella zoster virus and presents as oodles vesicles that ooze and scab over in a typically 3 daylight turnover period.
Herpes zoster is the hidden or dormant form of chicken pox. After you get chicken pox, the virus after goes dormant surrounded by a single dorsal root ganglion (nerve coming out of the spinal cord). Therefore, when the virus is reactivated, due to stress, decreased immune system etc., the all your own painful unthinking will reappear and follow the distribution of the nerve contained by which the virus went dormant within.
Chicken pox is contagious, and shingles (herpes zoster) can cause chicken pox surrounded by those who have not be exposed. However, you can't get shingles from another being with shingles.
