Marijuana and Adderall?

I take adderall for my ADD and it helps a lot but tends to keep my up at night. I've found that smoking marijuana helps me to get to sleep. Are there any real dangers with this?

Answers:
Yeah, drink some beer while your at it so you can go crazy.
yeah... death. really i dont know.
no real dangers, marijuana is a herbal medicine, much better than 90% of the perscribtion drugs out there. I have add and weed is what helps me sleep at night. It also frees the mind.
Why don't you try Russian Roulette, probably about the same thing. Don't screw around with drugs.
Yeah. You shouldn't mix drugs especially illegal ones. And marijuana is illegal. so it's wrong and dangerous.
No, only make u high and lazy!
Getting busted for possession. Failing a drug test at work or when applying for work. Falling asleep with a joint in your hand and burning down the house.

other than that, not really.
two great tastes that taste great together
Yeah, you'll become dependent on Aderall and stupid from marijuana

quit doing drugs, have some self control, ADD is not a learning disability, it's proven that people with ADD learn faster than people without it. you just have to keep your mind busy, it only wonders if you are being fast paced

If you work your brain, you'll become physically exausted
I don't know about the Adderall.but the weed helps me sleep too!
well mixing any substances yields an extremely high chance of danger

i dont recommend you do this and just mention it to the doctor its keeping you up, he can probably reccomend something
I'm not sure if there is a contraindication for Marijuana when taking Adderall, but I do know that marijuana can make certain drugs less effective.

Also, weed does the exact opposite of Adderall. Weed makes you less focused and lazy. Adderall help you focus and get your * in gear.

So, medically, I don't think you have an issue, but if you want your drug to work best, give up the weed and ask your doctor for some ambien or another safe sleeping pill.
Alot of people will say yes, but really it depends on the person, ?I takle Prozac to treat naxiety and depression and i smoke pot nothing has happend, i used to take paxil and still smoked and im ok..Id say keep self medicating
THERE IS ALWAYS A DANGER WITH BECOMING DEPENDENT ON ANYTHING. SEE A MEDICAL DOCTOR & FOLLOW HIS/HER ADVICE
none whatsoever ! keep smoking .i had a problem with sleeping at night ,and marijuana helped me out ! .and it relaxes me !
No, Marijuana isnt dangerous, unless you get caught, ROFL.

And um, I think you should see this, about ADD-

http://adhdparentssupportgroup.homestead.

There are 50 conditions that mimic ADHD and some that mimic ADD. Please look into it. You were very likely misdiagnosed. I personally, having seen this site, among others, do not believe in ADHD or ADD. No offense intended, its just for your own well being.
Jeezz. a bunch of tea-toters on here. Wow. People, get away from the computer for a while and get a life.

I wouldnt worry about it. when on amphetamines, people do all kinds of other drugs. I dont know what will happen in terms of your ADD though.

If you were to ask me which I thought was a safer drug by itself, I would tell you pot is. In my humble opinion.
The idea that marijuana is a physically harmless recreational drug is a fallacy. In a different manner, admittedly, marijuana, like tobacco and Ecstacy, eats away at the integrity of the brain over time, and its use should be dissuaded, whether its use is combined with a prescription drug like Adderal or not. Regular use of marijuana decreases the volume and mass of the brain over time. The high you're getting, as with alcohol or any recreational drug, comes with the price of disintegrating brain cells.
Short term memory loss for one.Nothing seriously harmful in fact they are safer than tobacco cigarettes..but this paragraph from wikipedia tells you more.

Some conclusions established with some degree of certainty, however, are that cannabis is less likely to cause emphysema or cancer than tobacco[24]; that sustained early-adolescent cannabis use among certain genetically predisposed individuals has an elevated correlation with certain mental illness outcomes, ranging from momentary minor psychotic episodes to clinical schizophrenia [25][26]; that cannabis use is generally higher among schizophrenics, but causality has not been established[27][28]; that it temporarily impairs motor skills; that it is unlikely to cause birth defects or developmental delays in the children of users,[29][30] and in a study done by the University of California Los Angeles in 2006, that even heavy marijuana smokers do not increase their risk for lung cancer.[31

Cognitive effects
Varying amounts of paranoia and anxiety in some users[16]
Loss of coordination and distorted sense of time [17]
Impairment of short-term memory in some users
Auditory or visual hallucinations at high doses in some users
Induced sense of novelty
Increased awareness of sensation, including visual stimulation, music, taste, and sexual pleasure
Increased mental activity, like metacognition and introspective or meditative states of mind
Relaxation or stress reduction
Mild entheogenesis (e.g. per Rastafarian users, more "Jah-Vibrations")
[edit]
Behavioral effects
Varying degrees of euphoria and feelings of well-being, ranging from feelings of general well-being to lengthy fits of laughter
Paramnesia, repetitiveness and ambiguation
Initial wakefulness followed by drowsiness and lassitude ("burnt out")
Gain or loss of some inhibitions
[edit]
Physiological effects
Anti-emetic properties (in moderate doses) [18]
Enhancement of many other drug effects (including those of alcohol, MDMA (Ecstasy), tobacco, heroin, cocaine)[18]
Lowered intraocular pressure, beneficial to glaucoma patients and sufferers of headaches, cramps, and eye pain.
Dilation of blood vessels (vasodilation),[19] resulting in:
Increased blood flow and heart rate (tachycardia)
Reddening or drying of eyes
Lower blood pressure while standing. Higher blood pressure while sitting (note that this can lead to instances of orthostatic hypotension, also known as head rush).
Increased appetite (often referred to as "the munchies"), an effect of stimulation of the endocannabinoid system, which affects body weight, insulin resistance, and dyslipidemia.[20] Some reports also claim that the drug can function as an appetite suppressant, and laborers in some parts of Africa, the Caribbean and other parts of the world where hunger is a daily reality for many people are known to use the drug to alleviate hunger.
Mild, temporary dry mouth (sometimes referred to as cottonmouth, dry-mouth, pasties, the drys (NZ), "the deserties" (AUS), or "the sandbox" (the republic of ZL and AL))
Dilation of alveoli (air sacs) in lungs, resulting in deeper respiration and increased coughing
Induces drowsiness (beneficial to sufferers of insomnia and sleep deprivation).
"Yeah. You shouldn't mix drugs especially illegal ones. And marijuana is illegal. so it's wrong and dangerous."

This just makes me sick. Everything that is illegal is not wrong and dangerous. Quit letting the government brainwash you. Alcohol, cigarettes.both legal..both dangerous. Marijuana was here before we were.if it weren't for our racist government it would have stayed LEGAL. In colonial days it was manditory crop to grow.

To your question:
I don't think their are and REAL dangers. Just be careful to not become too dependent on Adderall or Marijuana.
Nurse's answer: STOP NOW! I can totally understand using that sleepy side effect to your advantage, but just consider this.pot changes your body chemistry. The meds you take are designed for NORMAL human chemistry. Do you see the problem here? Don't get me wrong, even as a nurse I'm not totally anti-pot. I STRONGLY believe in it for cancer, MS, (etc.) patients. Pot is not harmless because it does and will interact with anything else you're taking . You would be SOOOOO much better off just trying a new med. .. You will become dependent on that "sleepiness" and will have a very hard time learning to sleep again w/o it. Good luck to you!
