What is the preparation of run of the mill saline solution?
Answers:
Normal saline is isotonic with blood plasma. Hence it does not injure the blood cells.Therefore it is used as IV fluids by doctors. Insted of hose it is better to use 0.9% normal saline as ear or nasal drops, it does not irritate such sensitive parts. Never use distilled or pure hose down to clean ear or feeler, it may be harmful.
Note:- Normal saline taste like tears.
To prepare middle-of-the-road saline solution, take 0.9 gm of sodium chloride (common salt) dissolve it surrounded by 100 ml of water.
