The FDA keeps you from eating machine grease in your orange juice. Or , at least makes sure that the grease is edible.

It also keeps feed grade ascorbyle sulphates from your foods.
The two of them are mutually exclusive?
The FDA is a government agency, not a for-profit corporation. (Duh!)

You need to get your conspiracy theories a little more in line with reality.
The drug companies not the FDA profit from sale of medicines. Do you hypochondriacs or addicts? There is a big difference.
