I've been on Lithium Carbonate (Lithobid) for severe depression for 1.5 years. It have been a godsend. I notice a huge difference in my depression in a week and after a month or two was put a bet on to my old robustness. I have not be depressed in over a year (since starting on the Lithium). But am thinking it may be time to run off it since I'm not longer depressed. I know it slows your metabolism down 25%, so I be wondering if anybody lost weight after they go off it? Please agree to me know. I'm curious if I'll lose weight if I quit taking it. Thanks!
Answer:

The second is that sometimes their depression returns in a subclinical form, but satisfactory so that they sleep a great deal and don't munch through much.
Less common, but one I enjoy seen, is patients who give somebody a lift up smoking and lose a bit of weight that course.
